New Season VI loom in the Horizon..

Thanks to all, since opening of the blogs, we as a community are able to share our thoughts on how our new season will turn out.

There was always mix emotions between each player about every single season. But there's one thing I can assure you of. Everybody enjoys basketball and with the tournament that adds the additional flavor of competition, it's the one reason that keeps ourselves hitting the court every wednesday.

Let's talk about the highs in season V:
Most points scored by a single team.
(86 points - Team B against Team A)
Greatest comeback by a single team.
(Trailing by 16 points - Team C against Team B)

Biggest run ever by a single team.
( 30pts - 5pts - Team C against Team B).
Most Technical Fouls given.
(2 technicals)
Most number of games with poor 1st half
and improve 2nd half.

(Team A)
Most Time spent argueing with the referee.
(Match Day 5)
Most 3 pointers made in a half by a single team.
(Finals - Team D against Team C)
Up to 41 players participating in this season.

Anyhow, there were mix emotions about how our players felt about Season V. But after a month of free-play, there were questions about when Season VI will start and with the current results of our poll, more favors the tournament to start as soon as next month.

So if we'll going to start Season VI, I need more about your views as how we should divide our players into 4 teams. Currently there are 4 drafting choices for your selection:

1. Draft with no condition.
All players name will be put into a big jar.

2. Draft according to skill.
Players will be divided into small groups of 4 according to skill (such as by either scoring, defending, rebounding, fouling, or etc.)

3. Draft according to position.
P
layers will be divided into small groups of 4 according to position (C, PF, SF, SG, PG)

4. Gather your group.
With 6-7 players agreeing to form 1 of the 4 available teams. Players who didn't register in time or have any personal preference will be assigned a team by our officials.

Last season, we have chosen draft pick choice No.1 with PA+ Mamalek as our honory draft pick representative, which he'll resume again next season if we chose draft pick choices No. 1 - 3.

So please vote for your personal preference before August 31 as which draft choices we will use.

Season V Overview

The last time we had season IV was about a year ago. And then suddenly, a few of our players got married, others got their future generations born, others went to study abroad, and others gone missing, our Season V was delayed from schedule for almost a year.

The long awaited season took it's toll. With a third of the players in their rookie season, the rest of the players lacking match fitness, and the refereeing standard long, long forgotten, there were a couple of problems that occured during the season which was either between player & referee and between players & players.

When a match is played, competitiveness always start and with sometimes trash talking and the game becoming serious, it's normal some people get hot-tempered and acted out of their original self. For me, I think it's normal if it only happens in the game and not outside.

However, the blaming of the refs in some games should be emphasized. Either it's because of the lack of knowledge in the rules, referees seeing different views, or referee biasing occured, mouth fights occured a bit too many. However, I believe no matter where you play, it'll be like this.

No competition is ever fair and after all....the one who scores more points is the sole winner. To summarize, although this season is dugged by some controversies throughout, it's the additional flavor which makes this season special.
