EIS Lovers Season VI Finals

Finals Report
When the news spread that EIS Lovers Tournament Season VI Finale will end on this day, numerous people have came to join bringing a season high 25 players hitting the court. With the biggest games of the year we also welcome the biggest stars on TV, Toe+ and Show, whom was drafted to Wednesday team in the absence of the Sundae dudes.

Here are the match results

3rd Place : Born Handsome 29 : 67 EIS2000
Born Handsome: Ake 11 pts., FBT 9pts.
EIS2000: Pete 13 pts., Benz & Victor 11 pts.

Fighting to avoid being the worst team, it's no big surprise Born Handsome had a foot stamped on the position before the match. Having lost two consecutive close games, morale was on a low. While EIS2000 whom were surprised by Wednesday last week are hoping to blast their temper on the Handsome dudes.

Just 5 minutes pass, Born Handsome were in serious foul trouble as the referee were able to spot all the mischievous happenings. From then EIS2000 rolled passed easily hitting a Tournament record 11 free throws as Born Handsome recorded a Tournament best 13 fouls. EIS2000 led 30-9 at halftime and shown their superiority with a 67-29 win.

Finals : Proflex 53 : 51 Wednesday
Proflex: Vikram 18 pts., Abishek 17 pts.
Wednesday: Michael 23 pts., Uday 12 pts.

It was a big challenge as surprise package Wednesday tries to uncrown the undefeatable Proflex team. With Uday switching from Sundae to Wednesday on the deadline of the trade day and new loan signings Toe+ and Show, Proflex might really sweat alot. The game began quietly with a friendly atmosphere for around ten minutes as both teams were ice cold, missing many easy shots.

However as the clock ticked 11 minutes, trio (Michael, Show, Uday) combined well for 21 points as Abishek single-handedly tried to keep Proflex in touch.

Half-time score Wednesday 29-27 Proflex.
Wednesday were dealt a big blow as Jai got injured and Joe came in. With their creative point guard gone, Proflex slowly ran the show and led 7 points with 3 minutes remaining. With Vikram gasping for air and been substituted, Wednesday took the initiative a hit two baskets against one Karun free throw. With 30 seconds remaining, Wednesday tried all sorts of tricks but it was Uday whom with 3 defenders around him, hit an absolutely unbelievable turn-around fade-away 3 pointer leading the Wednesday team trailing by 1. With Vikram splitting the next free throw foul attempt, Wednesday trailed by 2 with 5 seconds remaining. With Show asking for a time-out, which wasn't seen by the referee, Michael threw a long pass to Show who missed the potential game tying layup. With a second remaining, the ball fell to surprised Jai who also missed the crucial basket crowning the Proflex as Champions!!!

MVP (Most Vulnerable Person)
Joke Born Handsome
2 pts. 4 fouls
It was a cruel night for Joke as all his shots were totally OFF radar. With a dismal 1-of-11 shooting, his shooting percentage might have recorded in the Tournament's lowest field goal percentage. His MVP has shown great deal with his team losing by 38 points.

EIS Lovers Season VI SemiFinal

This is when the competition really begins. It's a time where upsets can occur. One occured last season when the 3rd place team beat the 2nd place team to book a place in the finals. This season was no different as Jai evaded all theories to lead his team to the finals. Though Born Handsome came close, Proflex were still too strong in the end.. .

Match 1 : Born Handsome 48 : 55 Proflex
Born Handsome: Ake 16 pts., Joke 13pts.
Proflex: Vikram 14 pts., Karun 12 pts.
Born Handsome came out strong with their aim of winning only the last 2 games. With a three man attack of JAM (Joke Ake Mamalek), Born Handsome held a 30-20 advantage at halftime. The second half was another story as Born Handsome used up all their fuel in the first half as the Proflex team ran RIOT outscoring Born Handsome 35-18 in the second half.
.
Match 2 : EIS2000 42 : 43 Wednesday
EIS2000: Benz, Mark, Pete 11 pts.
Wednesday: Jai 13 pts., Michael 12 pts.
It was the first competitve season that brothers Benz and Jai were seperated. It was like the battle of brothers as both of them turned to be the teams both top scorer. Both teams were evenly matched with many lead changes. The big hype was on the last minute when EIS2000 held a one point lead with 20 seconds to go. A missed shot by EIS2000 led to a chicken-run by Jai who stealed the victory with the last basket of the game.

Knockout Specialist
Jai Wednesday
Led 3rd place team to 2 Finals
It was the second straight season to which Jai finished 3rd in regular season but was able to taste the FINALS. ESBN is not sure if Jai kept his strengths and plans for the finals or was it his competitive nature that brought his team another unexpected finals appearance. ESBN will be wishing if Jai will be able to make another remarkable achievement as history defines that no team than the 1st and 2nd place in regular season has tasted the championship.

Why 25% of people abandon the last match?

There is a big question surrounding our EIS LOVERS Tournament of late.

Why do mostly half of the 1st Pair abandon refereeing for the 2nd Half of the 2nd Pair?

Currently our tournament format is

1st 20 min = 1st Half Pair 1
2nd 20 min = 1st Half Pair 2
3rd 20 min = 2nd Half Pair 1
4th 20 min = 2nd Half Pair 2 <---- Half of the players in Pair 1 hit straight home after they finish their match leaving 2nd Half Pair 2 with lack of referee support.

Every season, there is a problem but this season, it seems for most matches played in the 2nd Pair does not get it's fair share of refereeing.

An average of around 5 people of the 1st pair will go straight home after they finish the match
Leaving most of the 2nd Pair feeling uneasy or annoyed that they have received an unequal treatment in the refereeing standard.

Question arises about why these types of behavior happen?
Where has all the unity amongst us gone?

For me, I'm also kind of a culprit going home early probably 3 of the 7 weeks this season. Last week I kind of feel guilty having to go home early with only 4 people left behind refereeing. If my actions due annoy someone or change the outcome of any game, I'm truly sorry. It's a bit kind of early family problem stuffs, which I guess is finally sorted out from last week bust-up.

While for SUNDAE team, latest news is MIKE has finally got himself a daughter born sometime last week. He'll probably be missing from court due to his daughter's 2-month early birth and we will not know when exactly will he be back. He sends regards to all and hope the team will do well in his absence.

So I'm not sure what are all our other folks' reasons to hit home early but...For once, it happened this season when on the last half for every match, there remains only a few people to referee.
If you feel guilty like you're one of them who have given your friends unequality (like me included) It's never too late. And as a community, buckle up, give what everyone deserves,
a good quality of refereeing no matter if it's the first or second match.
