EIS Lovers Season VI Matchday 6

With rumors the SUNDAE are abandoning ship spreading, it became no more rumor when this week none of the original Sundae players came for the match for the Sundae team. Much speculation has been heard that they'll practicing a new attacking formation for the playoffs and are reluctant to participate on Matchday 6 due to fears of their offensive plans getting leaked out. Let's see how their plans unfold on this SemiFinal Match.

Match 1 : Born Handsome 39 : 40 EIS2000
Born Handsome: Joke 12 pts., Jai 11pts.
EIS2000: Joe 12 pts., Pete 7 pts.
With A.Chang busy and Jackrin out on business it was the first time Born Handsome has acquired some players to fill the void in the starting line-up, while EIS2000 for once fielded a team over 5 players. The game was very competitive with loanings Vikram and Jai getting busy in the 1st half. With Joe back from practicing high in the mountain tops, he dominated the boards and had many put backs to keep EIS2000 in touch. A late basket by Born Handsome almost wrapped it up at 39-38, but a mistimed turnover led to the final basket converted by EIS2000 condemning Born Handsome to a 6-victoryless run.
.
Match 2 : Proflex 69 : 58 Sundae
Proflex: Vikram 26 pts., Robin 18 pts.
Sundae: Mark 24 pts., Jai 21 pts.
Jai was left fuming as he entered the final day of the regular season learning he was the only player of the team to have appeared. The situation didn't get any better as having to loan 4 players or more. Though Sundae held ground and were only trailing by 2 at halftime, Proflex had shown how a stable team with great team work can bold out as they continue to hit shots all around the court throughout the match giving themselves a clean sweep of the regular season.

1 Person Team Present
Jai Sundae
Much has to be praised as Jai was the only person to appear on court for the Sundae team. Though he may have wished more would have come, he alone led a team of mercenaries to compete and would likely to be hoping next match his team will all be present and ready to fight for the championship.

EIS Lovers Season VI Matchday 5

It was the first day people felt the Sundae's may have abandoned shipped with only Mike hitting court with Uday as the other late arrival. Elsewhere, for the first time Proflex came with abundance with a full squad of 7 players, whom one was loaned out for more playing time. Here are the match results

Match 1 : Born Handsome 50 : 65 Proflex
Born Handsome: Joke 13 pts., Pete 10pts.
Proflex: Jolly 17 pts., Vikram 16 pts.
Although Born Handsome had acquired Hardeep for help on Proflex gameplans, the information was not enough as Jolly led a host of other 3 players in double figures. Though Born Handsome had rallied the deficit into single digits in the second half with their highest point total in the season, Proflex were still fresh and was not panicking as they only concentrated on scoring and beat the Handsome guys soundly by 15.
.
Match 2 : EIS2000 52 : 40 Sundae
EIS2000: Benz 21 pts., Pete 18 pts.
Sundae: Jai 16 pts., Michael 13 pts.
It was a close match between the two sides as the scored closed 29-27 at halftime. The second half was as well entertaining with many lead changes until midway through the second half. With Sundae original players Mike & Uday perspiring and gasing off, EIS2000 took the initiative and took a late run to win in more than the game should have unfold. If Sundae had all came, this game might have gone exciting down the wire.

Consecutive 0 pts/game
Chang Born Handsome
3 games
As Mike of Sundae have requested, we change the highlight of the MVP once in a while to get things changed a bit. As I met Top, the all-time leader of 0-pts, he suggested we find a replacement on the awards and with Born Handsome's defensive player A.Chang going on a 3 game no score record, ESBN will count how many more consecutive games this streak will lead to....Hohoho

EIS Lovers FC impressive once again.

EIS Lovers FC was once again impressive as they notched up another valuable victory against IFC (International Football Community). With EIS Lovers closing their den for 3 months due to heavy rain, our squad was still not too rusty. With an overload of players on our return, we loaned out our winger Kaiiiii and our two best defensive players, Pete & P'Big, and they have made us bleed dearly scoring the opponent's both goals. With our one and only GK Chang still steady and DF Jai and Benz denying most enemy attacks, our midfield quartlet of Abishek, Joke, Hiro, and Tomo ruled the park as our two wingers Heng and Nek running the wings.

EIS Lovers FC 6 vs 2 IFC
Benz 5" Pete 40"
Joke 20" Big 80"
Heng 60"
Hiro 66"
Tomo 74"
Hiro 83"
Possession: 59% : 41%
Shot attempts: 21 : 13
Shots on target: 12 : 6
Goals: 6 : 2
EIS Lovers: Chang, Jai, Benz, Abishek, Tomo, Hiro, Joke, Nek, Heng
IFC: Kenji, Ten, Pete, Big, Kaiiiii, 3, Jay, Ukit, Sunny, Naresh

Match reports:

5" Benz tackled the ball well and dribbled up as like Roberto Carlos. Benz was through and smashes a GOAL from the left byline.
14" Heng ran open from a through ball by Abishek and squared for Joke to volley home. Kenji was quick to save the weak shot.
17" Joke tackled midfield and hit a thunderous 40-yard banana shot which fell a few inches above the goal post.
20" A short pass by Hiro to Joke who side-footed and scored hit another thunderous shot that sent the goalkeeper and ball into the net.
40" Ukit escaped the offside trapped and collected a through ball from Kaiiiii, and after was tackled by Jai, the ball ran free to Pete who slammed the ball home with Chang wrong-footed.

Half-time EIS 2 - 1 IFC

54" Abishek was fed by Nek, and with a couple of jerks evaded defenders Ten and Big but unluckily hit the ball way off target.
60" A 1-2 with Joke sent Heng through the right touchline and his center cross somehow flew into the net.
66" Japanese duo combined well with Tomo's through ball let Hiro 1-on-1 with the keeper, whom he evaded with his deft dribbling skills and simply walked into the goal.
74" A short corner by Abishek found Joke whose short pass found Tomo in the center, who hit a low shot against the lower left corner.
80" P'Big got furious. After intercepting a pass in midfield, he dribbled up, faked a pass dumbing Joke & Tomo and hit a unstoppable shot against the right post of A. Chang.
83" As again the Japanese duo combined well with another carbon copy move as Tomo provided Hiro with the last goal of the day.

Full-time EIS 6 - 2 IFC

ESBN Man of the Match

EIS Lovers - Hiroki
Hiro was immense with his tackling and interception plays. With 2 goals and an assists, Hiro was instrumental to EIS Lovers victory.

IFC Best Player - Kenji (GK)
The Defensive Midfielder turn Goalkeeper was the heart of the team that kept the scoreline respectable as he threw everything to save his side from conceding another goal.

EIS Lovers Season VI Matchday 4

Once again, teams have rotated to meet one another again as matchday 1. With 3 games passed by, many will wonder if the last 3 games will yield the same results. But for ESBN, we talk only about results and what amazes us today is:

Match between Sundae & Born Handsome : 1st Time in history where two teams have equal points for both at half-time (22 points) and full-time (48 points). It never happened before and would surely be even harder to emulate.

Here are the match results.

Match 1 : Born Handsome 48 : 48 Sundae
Born Handsome: Ake 19 pts., Joke 15pts.
Sundae: Michael 18 pts., Uday 12 pts.
With Sundae having obtained a work-permit for their foreign player, Michael has shown his worth with an incredible 18 points with fellow big guy Uday grabbing another 12. But for once, Born Handsome team knew they weren't in the casino playing poker but actually at EIS basketball court. Trailing by 5 with 1:30 minutes remaining, the NANYANG duo Joke (black-nanyang) and Ake (white-nanyang) showed the Sun Tzu's yin-yang offense combination which was just enough for Born Handsome to escape another defeat.
.
Match 2 : EIS2000 40 : 52 Proflex
EIS2000: Pete 16 pts., Mark 9 pts.
Proflex: Vikram 20 pts., Karun 13 pts.
This much awaited match which would probably bear the outcome of the 1st place for this regular season was worth the wait. With EIS2000 needing a win to even the results and needing two more convincing victories to get in pole position, half of their squad pulled out leaving Benz with another headache loaning selection. The crisis worsen as Proflex stamped their authority with the yet again impressive Vikram hitting so many baskets that with another impresive combined effort from the team, deserved to be crowned champions of regular season 6.

Matchday 4 MVP (Most Vulnerable Player)
Chang Born Handsome
0 pts. 1 fouls
As yet again, the match-ups were same as matchday 1, the MVP award was given to the same guy A.Chang of Born Handsome. As the new semester is still closed, our Ajarn is still having a good vacation and was equally happy to receive the award once again. ESBN now wonders if history will repeat itself with Mike getting MVP on matchday 5 and Mug on matchday 6.

EIS Lovers Season VI Matchday 3

EIS2000 & Proflex Family made another headline with Job & Abishek hitting a career best 5 3-pointers in this game. ESBN doesn't remember what was the previous record to which maybe only Vikram or Bank hitting equal or more 3-pointers per game.

WIth EIS2000 tallying 80 points (2nd highest in history), it'll be a big big interest if EIS2000 can beat Proflex Family tmrw by 20+ points to regain poll position.

Match 1 : Proflex Family 69 : 50 Sundae
Proflex: Vikram 24 pts., Abishek 15pts.
Sundae: Jai 14 pts., Saab 12 pts.
Sundae was the last team able to prevent Proflex Family from getting a clean sweep on EIS Season 6 tournament. With Sundae acquiring Michael after obtaining his work permit, results just somehow came out as pundits have expected with Proflex family still HOTTTTT hitting another 9 3-pointers. Rumors have been heard that Proflex family have been practicingbehind close doors shooting 1000s of 3-pointers. And if it was ESBN, we believe it's true.

Match 2 : EIS2000 80 : 44 Born Handsome
EIS2000: Job 23 pts., Benz 20 pts.
Born Handsome: Joke 17 pts., Raylen 12 pts.
It was the first match that Born Handsome came with no substitute and it paid the toll with the younger fitter EIS2000 shredding the Handsome guys down to earth. EIS2000 had yet another great game with all their starters recording double figures. Much attention will be paid if next match EIS2000 can maintain their form and have all their players in double figures for the third straight game.

Matchday 3 MVP (Most Vulnerable Player)
Mug Sundae
0 pts. 1 fouls
This week was again another close call between our fellow Sundae's with Mike, Mug, and PA+ Mamalek in contention.Mug edged out on our ESBN MVP award with his first career blank score and these events never go unnoticed.

EIS Lovers Season VI Matchday 2

Another landmark was when EIS2000 had all their starters hit double figures which if I remember.......Never had happened before in our 38 games history.

Match 1 : Proflex Family 55 : 34 Born Handsome
Proflex: Jolly, Dev, & Karun 16 pts.
Born Handsome: Ake & Raylen 10 pts.
Born Handsome was still into poker going 2 pairs (2 10pts and 2 6pts) but this time they'll well beaten both in terms of poker 3 of a kind (3 16pts) and in game plan. The first half was really competitive when somehow, Proflex was able to hit 6 straight 3 pointers to pull the game way way beyond hand.

Match 2 : EIS2000 62 : 42 Sundae
EIS2000: Mark 16 pts., Benz, Pete, & James 12 pts.
Sundae: Uday 23 pts., Mug 7 pts.
Coming high from their first team win for Sundae in 6 seasons to date, Uday came out strong with 23 pts. but got too little help from the rest to defy the odds as EIS2000 had all their five players in double figures.

Matchday 2 MVP (Most Vulnerable Player)
Mike Sundae
0 pts. 0 fouls
It was the first time a player rang me up and requested himself to receive the famed weekly MVP award. Since his comeback with a remarkable 6 pts and Sundae's first victory, Mike went to celebrate in the Bahamas and just couldn't get himself back in the right time frame and mood. We appreciate his participation and would like to award him with the week's MVP award.
